Van Sabang Tot Merauke (UID 2014) ~ Feeling Indonesia from the Netherlands

As mentioned in the previous post, finally, the UID 2014 has been successfully organized by PPI Utrecht on Saturday 13th September 2014. The event was formally opened in 4pm through a speech from the Indonesian ambassador, Ibu H.E. Retno L.P. Marsudi. In her speech, she explained how such an event gives no reasons not to visit Indonesia. The theme “from Sabang to Merauke” represents a very wide large cultures, communities, differences in one Indonesia. Finally, she closed her speech with a proud for the PPI Utrecht as the organizers of the event.

Following the welcoming speech are Indonesian traditional performances from the western to the eastern part of Indonesia, which might represent the whole Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke. Finally, the event ends with poco-poco flashmobs by all the visitors and the committees attending the UID 2014.
